2024 Wrap-Up: Coach Kristina's Favorite Tools and Tips of the Year

As we close out 2024, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the tools and practices that shaped my year as a coach. Whether it's about finding focus, staying organized, or simply enjoying life’s little comforts, these are my go-to favorites that have made a real difference.

1. Best Fidget for Staying Grounded: Ono Roller (Junior Size)

This year, the Ono Roller earned its spot as my ultimate fidget tool.

  • Why I Love It: The junior size adds just the right weight, and the aluminum is cool to the touch and is incredibly grounding—perfect for moments when I need to refocus or bring myself back to the present.

  • Coach Tip: Keep one at your desk or in your bag for easy access during meetings, training sessions, or any time your mind starts to wander.

2. Tech Tool of the Year: ChatGPT

2024 was the year I fully embraced AI with ChatGPT, and it’s been a game changer.

  • How It Helps Me:

    • Built custom GPTs to streamline daily tasks like grocery planning and travel planning

    • Reduced decision fatigue by using it for wardrobe organization and even outlining complex thoughts.

    • Great for executive function support when life feels overwhelming.

  • Why You Should Try It: Whether you’re juggling work and home life or looking to simplify recurring tasks, ChatGPT can help lighten the mental load.

3. Comfort Clothing: The Perfect Hoodie

I’m a zip up hoodie person through and through. This year, I leaned into high-quality, soft hoodies that check all my sensory boxes.

  • Why Hoodies Work for Me:

    • Provide comfort and regulate body temperature, which can be tricky for me.

    • The cozy factor helps create a calm, focused environment.

  • Coach Tip: Invest in versatile, durable options—your nervous system will thank you. I recommend the EFAN Zip Up Hoodie I've had for two years.

4. Go-To Snacks: Apples, Bananas, and Protein Bars

Having quick and healthy snacks on hand has been key to maintaining energy throughout the day.

  • Why I Stick with These:

    • Fruit like apples and bananas are simple, nutritious, and easy to grab on the go.

    • Protein bars are a great backup when I need something filling but quick.

  • Try This: Keep a bowl of fruit visible to remind yourself to snack mindfully.

5. Favorite Sweet Treat: A Good Croissant

While I’m more of a savory person, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for a perfectly flaky croissant.

  • Why I Love Them:

    • They’re indulgent but not overwhelming.

    • Perfect for pairing with coffee during a reflective moment.

  • Shop Local: Support local bakeries for the freshest, most delicious options!

6. Organization Tool: My Custom GPT and Full Focus Planner

Staying on track has always been a challenge, but combining tech and traditional tools has been a winning strategy.

  • What Works for Me:

    • My custom GPT keeps me on top of recurring tasks and deadlines.

    • The Full Focus Planner offers a structured yet forgiving approach, which is great for when I occasionally drop the ball and forget it exists.

  • Why This Combo Rocks: It balances digital efficiency with the tactile satisfaction of writing things down.

These tools and practices have not only helped me stay productive but also supported my ADHD and physical well-being throughout 2024. As we head into a new year, I hope sharing these favorites inspires you to reflect on what worked for you and explore new tools to support your journey.
